Vida y obra Tras cursar el bachillerato y la carrera de Magisterio en su ciudad natal, estudió Filosofía y Letras, en la rama de Lenguas románticas, en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Su primer poemario, Alma desnuda, vio la luz en 1948, al mismo tiempo que empezaba a interesarse por el teatro, con estudios sobre Federico García Lorca, y a partir de 1949, con la fundación de varios grupos teatrales, como los teatros de cámara El Duende (1949), la compañía El Candil, La Carátula y el del Ateneo de Madrid (1954).
